The painter Picasso has always improves a strong feeling about African art and we can find some common points between his work and the way of doing of African artists like the faces or the bodies. Everything begins in 1907 when Picasso moves to an exhibition highlighted in the Trocadero Museum (Paris) where he stays in front of African masks. Picasso decides to introduce African art inside his paintings like the famous "Ladies of Avignon" (1907) stays as an evidence. This canvas representing four prostitutes plays a potent part in history of art. All his life Picasso will collect pieces from Africa and build a special connection with them. This special link can be find in "Faces" (1908) or in the sculpture names "The goat" (1950). Picasso follows also another goal building a real relationship with Africa. He draws the poster of the Congress of the Black intellectuals and artists at la Sorbonne (1956) and sell a painting for giving money to the Festival of the Negro Art in Dakar (1966). During this Festival he becomes the friend with the Senegal president Léopold Sédar Senghor who will visit the artist studio with the Spanish painter Pedro Florès. The president Senghor rises the art way of doing and asks to Picasso exhibiting some pieces inside the new Musée Dynamique. The painter agrees and the French president Pompidou a good friend of Senghor sends his own minister of culture Jacques Duhamel for supporting and representing France at the opening. Two hundred pieces will be underline and a Congress around the relationship between Picasso and African art will be hold. The today exhibition is smallest than the 1972 and doesn't stand at the Musée Dynamique becoming now the Supreme Court but the goal stays the same as the one follows by Picasso making a strong relationship between France and Sénégal.
