Considered as the most dreamer of the figurative art makers the french painter Eugène Baboulène is the potent member of the provençale art school. Younger he follows art teachings until Paris where he will meet Derain, Marquet, Kisling and Friesz. Baboulène never wants to live there and decide going back to Toulon for working as decorator for brothels or theaters. During the 1930's he will become the friend of two spanish painters Antoni Tapiès and Antoni Clavé who will encourage him for making canvas. The Baboulène beginings as painter are very hesitating because he reproduces models at the same level including details. Then he stays progressively free let it down his theorical approach for a more personnal way giving a huge importance to suggestion by using what he calls tasks. Eugène Baboulène like fishing and integrates his passion inside several canvas. He also underlines landscapes of the South of France with warmth and easy life full of light. Since 1950 Eugène Baboulène participate to many exhibitions in France (Paris, Nice, ...) and abroad (Londres, New - York, Genève, Berlin, ...) making him more famous.
